SHIP REPAIR MANAGER

SHIP REPAIR MANAGER

Key Responsibilities:

1. Overall responsibility of overseeing the operation of ship repair and workshop activities.
2. Meeting the gross revenue and profit targets for the business unit.
3. Improving operational efficiency through effective control of resources.
4. Supporting cost control in reference with job / project cost monitoring.
5. Minimizing claims, reworks and customer complaints. Closing jobs as per timelines without any customer complaints.
6. Ensuring adherence to all quality system requirements, development and implementation of safety system & standards and developing a safe working environment.
7. Conduct training and development of operations personnel. Introducing of new technologies and methods in operations.

Person Profile:
University degree in Marine / Shipbuilding Engineering with at least 10 years of experience as Ship Repair Manager / Project Manager / Asst. Operation Manager in Shipyard or Dry dock Company. Age between 40-50 years. Having experience in handling ship repair projects in drydocks or floating dock, classification society for approval and dealing with ship owners. Having exposure to handle and control multi disciplines like mechanical work, steel work, fabrication work, electrical work, estimation, invoicing, QC and commercial work, / superintendand, chief engineers, etc. Having strong related technical competence / skill / knowledge. Ability to work within a diverse cultural environment. Demonstrated interpersonal and team building skills.Good personality, good communication in English oral and written. Having leadership skill and strong standing in the marine community.Computer literate including exposure to ERP and CRM and related program.

DOCK MASTER

Qualification :
1. University degree (S1) in Marine Engineering or Naval Architecture with minimum 5 years working experience in the same position in ship repair or dry docking facility.
2. Excellent technical skill to oversee safe docking of vessels in the floating dock and oversee work in ship repair operation.
3. Prepare docking plan for vessels. Read ship general arrangement and profile drawings to prepare docking plan, set up of blocks for docking, control of the docking barge and the related tugs for docking of vessels,
4. Ensure work is completed within budgeted cost and time.
5. Ensure that appropriately skilled and experienced workers are allocated to relevant activities.
6. Ensure that appropriate tools, equipment and materials are available.
7. Monitoring standards of production and taking appropriate action where re-training is required.
8. Ensure safe working practices are adhered to in his allocated area of control, participate
9. Ensuring that employees under his control are aware of any project specific requirements prior to the commencement of the project.
10. Ensuring that employees under his control are operating to the appropriate revisions of drawings and specifications.
All candidates should be:

• Having appropriate certification with related job and certification according to STCW
• Having strong related technical competence / skill / knowledge.
• Ability to work within a diverse cultural environment.
